Start out by hiking Mount Trus Madi, Sabah's second highest peak located in Crocker Range Park. With an abundance of birds, orchids, and nepenthes, you will be rewarded with beautiful views as you follow the trail from the village of Sinua to the summit of Trus Madi. Unlike Mount Kinabalu, very few tourists venture here, especially for a longer three-night trek, so a visit here will prove to be very special, as well as challenging.
At Sapulot, you will experience Murut hospitality, where people drink bottomless rice wine from huge ceramic jars and have endless chats about their Murut headhunting ancestors. Challenge yourself to scaling the 800 foot limestone pinnacle called Batu Punggul, explore mysterious caves, and sleep on stretcher hammocks in a jungle camp perched high on a riverbank. Enjoy traditional Murut food and navigate rivers that run through pristine rainforest in traditional longboats.
