Role & Responsibilities

Sticky Rice Travel is a fast-growing, innovative, socially and environmentally conscious travel company. The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for managing the company’s marketing and communication approaches and initiatives. You use market research and analysis to direct marketing strategy and planning, and oversees communications activities of the Comms Team.  

Essentially, the Marketing Communications Manager directs and supervises the workflow of marketing, advertising, public relations to content creation by assigning job tasks, facilitating interdepartmental communications and managing external communications. Your expertise allows you to allocate company resources to maximize collaboration, efficiency and creativity in the building and maintenance of brand consistency and identity, across marketing and communications channels. You are also responsible for staying up to date on industry trends.

You will be working at both ends of your job title, as well as where marketing and communications duties intersect. The marketing management side of the job may involve the development and refinement of marketing goals and strategies, promotional activities and branding internally and externally. Directing market analysis and research to identify trends and opportunities is another marketing job duty.

You should be a strong key player in managing public’s perception of a product, brand or company. Directing the creation of internal and external communications, as well as online and offline media presence, is part of communications management.


  • Involve in ideation, planning and execution of marketing strategies and plans. Approves and oversees the creative development of promotional materials, website content, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects to increase market share and generate sales leads
  • Communicates with internal and external teams to help marketing projects come to fruition
  • Managing marketing communication budget that works within the department to develop cost-effective marketing plans for each product or service
  • Researches and analyses market trends, demographics, pricing schedules, competitor products, and other relevant information to form marketing strategies.
  • Adjusts marketing campaigns and strategies as needed in response to collected data and other feedback
  • Obtaining necessary consent and providing final approval on all marketing collateral, products, videos and promotions
  • Works with sales teams to develop detailed marketing plans for all media channels

Marketing Communications Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent
  • Always ahead on consumer and product awareness
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong and sharp attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fantastic IT skills
  • Superb knowledge of marketing techniques
  • Self starter and reliant
