The Kiulu River outside Kota Kinabalu is the perfect area to enjoy beginner white water rafting! If you have always wanted to try this exciting sport in a beautiful location then Kiulu River is the place for you. You will experience excitement combined with amazing natural scenery as the river winds its way through the stunning Kiulu River Region.
After a safety briefing conducted by your expert, professional River Guide, you will raft your way 9 to 15 kilometers downriver depending on water levels (approximately 1.5hours) – the longest white water rafting experience in Sabah, dodging boulders and rocks throughout the ‘Banana Rapids’ and ‘The Wall Rapids’ sections of the river. End the trip with lunch, while laughing about the thrills you have just experienced with your group!
At about 8:30AM, picked up by your guide at your hotel and transfer to Tamparuli town, a journey of about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arrival at Borneo Wavehunters base camp, start your adventure with some light refreshments and opportunity to change into your rafting clothes. Then, transfer to the starting point in Pukak near Kiulu town. At about 10:30AM, gear up and listen to the safety briefing before embarking on your rafting activity. The rafting will last between 1.5 – 2 hours depending on water level. The furthest rafting distance is 15km when the water is high and 9km if water is at average or low level. At about 1:00pm, freshen up at ending point and enjoy lunch before transferring back to the city at about 2:00PM. Estimated arrival time is at about 3 – 3:30PM
